Our monthly service is designed to be educational, entertaining, and thought-provoking. Typically, subjects of wide appeal are included, especially those which have practical implications for better living, self-actualization, and developing a greater awareness of the vast spectrum of thought and feeling connected with the human condition. Because we are Freethinkers, we are not bound to any particular tradition of literature or the like. As a result, we are free to choose from a wide-ranging selection of informative, imaginative and speculative, poetic, and inspirational material in our programs.

We address a wide variety of topics at our services, with each month likely to be a good deal different than the month before and the month after. Each service is a blend of a featured topic along with a mixture of other items of interest to Freethinkers: humor, music, news, inspiration and education. Take a look through our Library to get an idea of the wide variety of ideas we explore at our services. Often, NTCOF Members contribute to the service with items they present as part of the program, including music, humor, information about upcoming NTCOF events, and more.

Our Services usually last about 60 minutes, after which many of our Members gather for lunch together at a nearby restaurant. At a typical Service, 75-100 NTCOF Members will be present, of all ages, sizes, shapes and colors, in addition to 10-20 children in our Freethought Sunday School. By a large margin, NTCOF Sunday Services are the largest regular gathering of Freethinkers in the Southwest, perhaps in the nation.

Visitors are always welcome at any NTCOF service or event, and we invite you to relax and see for yourself what our group of friendly Freethinkers is like. There's never any pressure to 'join' anything or contribute a donation, and we never pass a collection plate! All we ask is that you come back once or twice after your first visit before you make up your mind, in order to see the range of content at our services, since each one is so different from the next. Casual dress is appropriate at NTCOF services; be comfortable and come dressed as you wish.

Child care is offered at all of our services. For young children, we offer a Freethought Sunday School program, with the same intent as the main services, but at an age-appropriate level. Youngsters may learn about the world of nature, art and technology, geography, current events, and how to do right and get along in a world where reason is too often ignored.

Most of the other churches you'll find in the Dallas/Fort Worth area rely on old, dusty sacred scriptures to determine the content of their services. Not us! Instead of being constrained by ancient traditions and superstitions, we Freethinkers are free to explore anything we enjoy. From philosophy, science, and the arts to magic and juggling, there's a wealth of interesting things to learn and appreciate together. Some of our inspiration comes from these Freethinking individuals:

If what you have read here has left you interested, or just curious, please feel welcome to attend our next monthly service or other event. See our Events Calendar for the latest information on our current schedule, or call our information line at (972) 395-5343 if you'd like additional information. If you have children, please bring them along...they will meet many other children of Freethinking families! We hope you'll find new friends who value honesty and reason as the sensible guides to a good life, and that sense of wonder and openness of mind where feeling intersects thought and experience.
