I attend a Unitarian Universalist church (UU) at least once a month and have claimed that a UU church is relatively benign. If you put the emphasis on “relatively”, I suppose I still think so.
However, at last weeks (2nd Sunday) UU service, Amazing Grace was sung, with one of the verses extracted below, without explanation or disclaimer. Can such really be considered benign or with any positive meaning to an atheist?
“When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.“
Other Churches Benign?
Re: Other Churches Benign?
Funny that we're told "God" gave us "free will" because he "didn't want to be loved by robots." But I guess in "heaven" the free will has to go away (in order to prevent sinning) and the "saints" will undergo an additional brain adjustment so that they will never get tired of singing praises to the deity.
